So I was meetin and catchin up with some of my friends over the past 1 month (already?! wow.) that I've been back, and the most common question I've been asked is if there's actually racial discrimination over there.
I mean, it was and still is, part of my curiosity before i depart, and really,
I would say, not any obvious gang banging or vulgar abuse or mouth fluid omitted and landed on the ground that I know of or seen when i was there.
So no, there isnt any obvious racial discrimination that i have witnessed through the naked eye (yeah i just have to put in the naked word so i'm at ease).
Although although, there's this bitarch from work, Amanda, whom most of the Asians, if not all the international students workin over there hated.
To think about it, i think she pretty much picked on me more than once.
So what's a stereotypical "more hardworkin" and "intelligent" Asian to do, but to fight back?
The typical day of the first confrontation happened like this.. *thinking bubbles*
Wan jun and i were just knockin off from a long day at work on a weekend, at the fated time of about 9plus pm, Amanda the Security stood at the exit.
So she spotted the two gorgeous ladies sashaying towards her, and decided it's time to have some fun.
*Caution: the following segment will require additional entertainment products to further enhance your viewing pleasure. Popcorns are welcome*
Her: *Very bluntly* "TUCK in your shirts."
Wj: decided to ignore her and walk straight on.
Her: *walked backwards a little and stopped us* "Tuck in your shirts. It's the park policy. This is a warning."
Wj: "No why should we tuck in our shirts" *continue walkin on*
Her: "STOP i said stop! Give me your ID."
Wj: "Nope we are already near the exit. And we're goin home." *walkin on*
Her: "STOP and SHOW me your ID." *all the while backing and stopping us* *Withdrew her walkie talkie* "I'm callin my supervisor now. Stop and.."
Wj: "Ohh let him come."
The whole time my brain froze and was too nonchalent to what was actually happening (i've no idea why i was feelin nothin). Honestly speakin, if it was me alone, i would have just tucked in my shirt (WHICH WAS SO FREAKIN TUCKED) and pulled my pants so high it'll reach my breasts just to show her point. Then roll my eyes 10 times over in front of her and call it a day.
But then,
what's a drama without a fight and shooting stars?
With Amanda blocking my vision the whole time, I decided to chap in and talk her out.
Me: "Look Amanda, just let us go. Why are you always pickin on us?"
Her: *fake laugh* "I'm not pickin on you guys. My grandfather is an asian too! His name is Tan Ah Teck!" (or whatever, i cant and dont bother to remember)
And her comment just did it. *light bulb fuse fickler*
Me: *finger wavering in font of her* "I DONT CARE WHETHER YOU ARE AN ASIAN OR CAUCASIAN HERE. You are obviously pickin on us!"
A couple of remaining guests are startin to catch on the commotion. And then, Ben, the supervisor finally came. After comprehending the situation from Amanda, he escorted us aside.
Ben: "Look lets not create a scene here. Calm down calm down."
Wj: "It's already so late after work. Cant you (amanda) just close one eye and let us go?"
Ben: "Ok calm down. I understand i understand."
Me: "I dont understand why she's always pickin on us. Look, we didnt come all the way from Singapore to receive this kind of Shit here."
Yeah, ok i might just need anger management. Lol.
Ben: *chuckle* "Right i understand"
So there and then, our badge numbers were taken down and we went home feelin sooo freakin pissed.
But shuang man! Who ask her anyhow anyhow pick on people.
Go all the way to the states to fight with an angmoh. Lol so my brother says.
This video cracked me up and triggered my memory on the incident.
And just in case you guys wondered what happened after that,
I'm still typing here, safe and sound.
Although although Amanda still continued to pick on me even on my last 2nd day of work.
But everyone lived happily ever after,
And I chewed her head off.
The End.

Unpredictable.
And that's all you need to know.
Yes my baby, you speak the language of shooting stars.
Over the rainbow, that's where you'll find me waiting for you.
This desire so inexplicable, I thought I never loved.
Until, you have taken me completely over.
